Police said the standoff began when an officer responded to an unrelated complaint in the area. While investigating, the officer encountered Holiday, who allegedly threatened to assault and shoot them. Backup was called, and New York State Troopers along with Steuben County Sheriff’s deputies established a perimeter around the home.

Authorities said the standoff continued for approximately two and a half hours before Holiday was taken into custody. During the arrest, police said Holiday attempted to assault a sheriff’s deputy with a large staff.

Holiday was charged with menacing a police officer and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, both class D felonies, as well as menacing in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

He was arraigned in Steuben County court and is being held without bail due to multiple prior felony convictions.
