Community Bank, N.A. has announced it will close its branch in Phelps on Friday, September 12, 2025, and consolidate all services into its Clifton Springs location.
The decision was communicated in a May 2 letter to account holders, which stated: “The decision was made after a thorough assessment of how we can best serve our customers and optimize our branch network to adapt to changing banking needs,” the company said. “We understand that this may cause some inconvenience, but we assure you that we are committed to a smooth transition, and our team is available to assist you with any questions or concerns.”
Customers were also informed that there will be no interruption of service and that no action is required on their part. All account functions will continue seamlessly at the Clifton Springs branch, located at 1 Clifton Springs Plaza.
The Phelps closure comes amid additional changes across the region. The Seneca Falls branch is also scheduled to close this year. Customers there received a similar notice explaining that operations will be consolidated to the branch in Waterloo.
