Waterfall lovers can once again explore Watkins Glen State Park’s famed Gorge Trail, now open for 2025. The two-mile route showcases 19 waterfalls, including Rainbow Falls and Cavern Cascade, drawing thousands each year to the Finger Lakes.
Trail safety is ensured each spring by crews clearing debris from winter. However, construction on the historic Sentry Bridge will close the main tunnel and South Rim Trail access starting July 7. Visitors can still reach the Gorge Trail through alternative entrances.
While pets and swimming aren’t allowed, the scenic experience remains a highlight of Upstate New York hiking. Full access to the park is expected to return by summer 2026.
