Watkins Glen International has been named the second-best NASCAR track in the country by USA TODAY’s 10Best list, trailing only Pennsylvania’s Pocono Raceway. The ranking reflects both expert input and fan voting, spotlighting WGI’s iconic reputation and fan-friendly atmosphere.
Track President Dawn Burlew credited the honor to the immersive viewing experience and rich motorsport history. Known for its tight corners, dramatic elevation shifts, and deep racing roots, the Glen continues to captivate fans since becoming a NASCAR staple in 1986.
The August NASCAR weekend will feature four major series, offering high-octane action in a setting many consider unmatched among road courses. Local racing historian Kip Zeiter called the track a standout in both design and atmosphere.
