A Jamestown man will spend more than 17 years behind bars for distributing child pornography through social media platforms.
Brandon G. Uber, 24, was sentenced Thursday to 210 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York.
Uber was convicted of sending sexually explicit images and videos of a 16-year-old female victim to a Snapchat user in March 2021. Prosecutors say he also exchanged child pornography with other users across various social media apps. In one case, Uber persuaded a known minor to create and send explicit videos of herself.
Investigators seized two phones and two tablets from Uber, which contained child pornography he had received and distributed.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the New York State Police, and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
