Moravia Central School District earned statewide recognition with two major awards at the 2025 New York FFA State Convention in Syracuse.
Superintendent John Birmingham received the 2025 Administrator Recognition Award, while the district’s FFA chapter was honored with the 100 Year Chapter Challenge Award for its outstanding commitment to agricultural education and student leadership.
“Mr. Birmingham is a champion for the Moravia FFA Chapter and Agriculture program,” said the event’s speaker. “He promotes the program by sharing the story of their efforts, creating a vision for the future of what the program can become and being personally present at every event.”
The 100 Year Chapter Challenge Award recognizes chapters that have gone above and beyond in marking a century of New York FFA history. Moravia’s award reflects its innovative programming, strong community outreach, and dedication to developing leadership in students.

Held at the New York State Fairgrounds, the 2025 convention welcomed over 2,500 members, advisors, and guests under the theme “Excelsior.” The event included workshops, competitions, and professional networking, celebrating both a century of FFA impact and its future promise.
Moravia Central School District thanked the NY FFA for the honors and acknowledged the contributions of students, staff, and the broader community in making the achievement possible.
