Domestic assault in Ontario County: Family member injured, suspect tampered with evidence

A domestic incident in Hopewell ended in arrest after a man allegedly injured a family member and tampered with evidence at the scene.

Robert J. Krupcznski, 57, was taken into custody on May 8 at his residence on State Route 5 and 20. Deputies charged him with assault in the second degree, a Class D felony, and tampering with physical evidence.

Ontario County deputies responded to the address following a report of a physical domestic altercation. Investigators say Krupcznski engaged in a violent confrontation with a family member, during which he knocked out the victim’s front tooth. The victim also suffered a swollen and abraded lip.

Before deputies arrived, Krupcznski allegedly discarded “several articles of evidence,” disrupting the integrity of the crime scene. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ontario County Jail for pre-arraignment detention. Authorities say he will appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date.
