Bath man charged with falsely reporting incident

Police in the Village of Bath arrested a man after responding to a report of an order of protection violation at a local store.

Officials identified the caller as Joshua Morey, 32, of Bath. According to police, officers were dispatched around 3:04 p.m. on May 7 to the Family Dollar on West Washington Street. After investigating and interviewing witnesses, authorities determined that Morey had falsely reported the incident.


Morey was charged with falsely reporting an incident in the third degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Police processed him and released him on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Bath Village Court at a later date.
