President Donald Trump marked the end of his first 100 days in office with a wide-ranging interview on Meet the Press, highlighting major policy wins and outlining goals for the next phase of his presidency.

Trump emphasized strong progress on lowering costs, securing the border, protecting Social Security, and reshaping global trade relationships.

Trump says prices are falling nationwide

Trump pointed to significant price drops on essentials like groceries, oil, and gasoline.

“Prices are down at tremendous numbers for gasoline,” Trump said. “Prices are down for all energy.”

Border security declared “really secure”

The president reaffirmed his administration’s focus on border enforcement.

“It’s really secure,” Trump said. “After years of incompetence, it’s great to say that again.”

No cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, or Social Security

Trump promised to protect core social programs.

“We’re not cutting Medicaid, we’re not cutting Medicare, and we’re not cutting Social Security,” he stated.

Focus on removing violent criminal illegal immigrants

Trump vowed to continue efforts to deport dangerous individuals.

“We have thousands of people — some of the worst, most dangerous on earth — and I was elected to get them the hell out of here,” he said.

Tariffs, auto industry growth, and trade reform

Trump touted strong support for his tariff policies, especially from the auto industry.

“They’re going to make a fortune because of the tariffs,” he said. “We’ve been waiting 40 years for somebody to do what Trump is doing.”

He added that the U.S. trade deficit has dramatically improved and said, “We’re going to be at a point soon where we’re making money every day.”

Trump on Iran and Ukraine

On Iran, Trump said, “The only thing they can’t have is a nuclear weapon.” He praised the Iranian people while stressing the need for nonproliferation.

Discussing Ukraine, Trump said he believes peace negotiations are closer with one party but acknowledged “tremendous hatred” remains between leaders.

Government oversight and cutting waste

Trump highlighted $160 billion in fraud, waste, and abuse identified by his administration’s oversight efforts.

“I think they’ve done an incredible job,” Trump said, noting that more reforms are underway.

China tariffs and future plans

Trump commented that China’s economy is struggling under current tariffs but indicated they may be reduced eventually to encourage fair business practices.

“Their economy is collapsing,” Trump said. “They want to do business very much.”
