A Syracuse man pleaded guilty this week to attempted rape in the first degree, Cayuga County District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced.
Jason Williams, 36, of 113 Kimber Avenue, admitted to the crime ahead of a trial that had been scheduled to begin on May 5.
According to prosecutors, Williams is expected to be sentenced on August 14 to five years in prison, followed by fifteen years of Post-Release Supervision.
The investigation revealed that Williams sexually assaulted an adult female who was asleep at the time. Senior ADA Heather De Stefano prosecuted the case, with the investigation and arrest conducted by members of the Auburn Police Department and their GIVE Unit.
