Dryden officials have received state approval to seek bids for a long-awaited bridge that will connect both sides of the Dryden Rail Trail across Route 13, according to town officials.
The $3.5 million project, expected to begin this year, is seen as essential to completing the 14.4-mile trail network linking Dryden to Ithaca. Once built, the bridge will improve connectivity for walkers, cyclists, and commuters, while advancing regional goals in smart growth and sustainability.
Funding comes from a mix of federal, state, and local sources, with the town set to bond any remaining costs after bids are reviewed.
