West Virginians impacted by February 2025 storms must apply for FEMA disaster assistance by Monday, April 28, federal officials announced. The deadline applies to residents of Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Raleigh, Wayne, and Wyoming counties who experienced damage to homes or personal property during the storms.

Survivors who have not yet applied are urged to submit their applications immediately. Those who have already applied are encouraged to help friends, family, and neighbors complete their applications before the cutoff.
How to apply for FEMA assistance
Residents can apply or get help with their cases by:
- Calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362
- Visiting DisasterAssistance.gov
- Downloading the FEMA App on mobile devices
- Visiting a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in person
Disaster Recovery Centers remain open in McDowell, Mingo, Raleigh, and Wyoming counties for survivors needing face-to-face help.

All centers are open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on weekends. DRCs are accessible to individuals with disabilities and communication needs.
Important note on Disaster Recovery Centers
While the deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is April 28, Disaster Recovery Centers will remain open beyond that date to help residents check case statuses, upload documents, and submit appeals.
