Wayne-Finger Lakes high school sports: April 24 scoreboard

Undefeated Penn Yan survived a scare in boys lacrosse, edging Brighton by one in a thriller to move to 7-0. Victor dominated Webster Schroeder, and Midlakes/Red Jacket rolled to a statement win behind James Sprague’s nine-point night. 

In baseball, Mynderse’s Cullen Herron shined on both sides of the ball, striking out five and driving in three in a win over Penn Yan.

On the softball diamond, Palmyra-Macedon after a wild seventh inning to remain unbeaten, while Bloomfield improved to 5-0 behind another strong team effort. Rylee Richardson stayed hot for Lyons, going 5-for-5 with five RBI to keep the Lions perfect on the season.

Cullen Herron recorded the win for the Blue Devils, throwing seven innings of three-run ball while allowing just four hits and striking out five. He also led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Josh Hutchins and Alan Plummer each drove in two runs.

Karina Natale tossed seven innings of two-run ball while allowing just one hit for the Reds, while also going 1-for-2 at the plate with two stolen bases and two runs scored. Gretchen Crawford and Kendall Carr also contributed offensively, combining for three hits and three RBI. Kenzie Turner turned in a solid outing for the Screaming Eagles, striking out seven over six innings.

Kyah Lajewski drove in five runs on three hits for the Blue Devils, while Hannah O’Brien added a three-run home run. Haley Young earned the win, allowing three runs and contributing two hits and two RBI at the plate.

In one of the season’s most thrilling games, the Red Raiders stayed undefeated with a walk-off win after the Tigers stormed back with a nine-run seventh inning to take a short-lived lead. Elionna Rouland powered Pal-Mac with a 4-for-5 performance, including four doubles and an RBI, while Gwyn Panek went 3-for-3 for Waterloo, falling just a home run short of the cycle.
