Emergency responders from the Genoa Volunteer Fire Department were called to assist with traffic control Friday afternoon after a truck became stuck in a ditch near the intersection of NY-90 and Indian Field Road.

The incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. when the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office requested support to manage the scene. According to the department, automatic aid was provided by the King Ferry Fire Department, which helped direct traffic on the west side of the incident.

One lane of traffic remained open while responders waited for Pullen’s Truck Center to arrive. The recovery operation involved lifting the trailer out of the ditch. The fire department reported that all units were back in service after about two and a half hours on scene.

Genoa fire officials expressed their appreciation to King Ferry firefighters for their assistance during the extended call.
