  • Staff Report

A woman was arrested in the Town of Fayette on Thursday night after deputies say she tried to hide evidence during a traffic stop and was found to be under the influence.

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reported that Carrie A. Cash, 47, of Homer, was taken into custody around 9:32 p.m. on April 18 following a stop on State Route 96.

Deputies say Cash’s vehicle was observed committing multiple traffic violations before they pulled her over. During the stop, investigators say she attempted to conceal evidence and was ultimately determined to be impaired.

Cash faces multiple charges, including Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest, and Tampering with Physical Evidence. She also received several traffic tickets.

She was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, processed, and released with an appearance ticket. She is scheduled to appear in Fayette Town Court at a later date.
