A Naples man is facing multiple felony charges following a late-night traffic stop in Penn Yan, where police say he was driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit.
Sean M. McClain, 29, was pulled over on Sand Hill Road shortly after 1 a.m. on April 10 after officers noticed his vehicle had no functioning tail lights.
According to Penn Yan Police, McClain showed several signs of intoxication, and officers observed multiple open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle. He failed a series of field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
At the Yates County Jail, McClain voluntarily submitted to a breath test, which measured his blood alcohol content at 0.18%.
McClain was charged with aggravated DWI and DWI—both felonies—along with driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or more. He also faces charges of first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, violating an ignition interlock restriction, consuming alcohol in a vehicle, operating without a license, and having inadequate tail lights.
He was processed and held at the Yates County Jail to await arraignment in Centralized Arraignment Court.
