Geneva firefighters responded swiftly to a Monday morning fire, containing the blaze to a rear addition and preventing major damage to the main structure.
According to a post by Hydrant Hose Company No. 1, crews acted quickly to knock down the fire and deployed tarps inside the home to protect belongings from water damage. The fire was confined to the rear of the residence, with only minimal impact reported to the main living areas.
West Lake Road crews were praised for their rapid response, and Whitesprings Fire Department provided standby coverage during the incident.
No injuries were reported, and officials have not released further details on the cause of the fire.
