Canandaigua man disrupted 911 call during domestic

A Canandaigua man was arrested early on March 31 after allegedly interfering with a 911 call during a domestic argument in front of a child.

Robert J. O’Leary, 34, was taken into custody around 2:50 a.m. at a residence on Gorham Street. Police responded to a report of a disturbance at the address.

Investigators said O’Leary forcibly took a cellphone from another person’s hand and threw it as the victim was attempting to call 911. The incident occurred during a verbal dispute and was witnessed by a 12-year-old child.

O’Leary was charged with Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
