The New York Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting April 30 to discuss a major repaving project along Auburn’s Arterial, according to city officials. The $21–$31 million project is now slated to begin in June 2026.
Spanning 2.67 miles of Routes 5 and 20, the project includes resurfacing roads, upgrading sidewalks, drainage, and installing new traffic signals. City staff have already raised concerns and offered suggestions after reviewing the draft plan with DOT representatives.
Originally set for 2025, the project was delayed by a year, frustrating local leaders who hoped for faster progress on long-awaited infrastructure improvements.
