Families in Hornell have a new spot to enjoy the outdoors with the opening of a playground on Bennett Street, near the Little League Park.
Funded entirely by the city at a cost of $30,000, the fenced-in play area features slides, swings, and a mulched surface. City workers handled installation, and officials say the space is already popular among neighborhood kids and families.
Local leaders, including Mayor John Buckley and second ward representative Christina Hancock, say the new park promotes outdoor activity and community connection, with plans underway to add a picnic table for added convenience.
