Alan Lehman has taken the reins at Hickory Hill Camping Resort, marking a new chapter for the family-run destination in the Finger Lakes Region.

Lehman, the son of long-time owners Randy Lehman and Janet Opila-Lehman, stepped into the role of campground manager on April 4. He and his wife, Andrea Lehman, recently left their corporate careers in New York City to return to Alan’s childhood home and continue the legacy built by his family.

“My dream has always been for Hickory Hill to remain a multi-generational family business,” said Randy Lehman. “Seeing Alan and Andrea step into this role is beyond what I ever hoped for.”

Hickory Hill was founded in 1962 by Frank and Evelyn Brundage and passed to Randy in 1979 when he was 23 years old. Over the decades, Randy and Janet developed it into a destination known for family-friendly hospitality and natural beauty. Now, Alan and Andrea are bringing fresh energy and a modern outlook to the resort while preserving its core values.

“Leaving behind our corporate careers to return to Hickory Hill wasn’t just a career move—it was a calling,” said Alan Lehman. “We’re incredibly honored to carry on the traditions my parents built and create new memories for the next generation of campers.”

The couple brings extensive experience in finance and marketing, which they plan to use to enhance operations and guest engagement. Their goals include introducing innovative programming while maintaining the welcoming environment that has defined Hickory Hill for more than 60 years.

“We believe camping is about creating lasting memories, reconnecting with nature, and spending quality time with loved ones,” said Andrea Lehman. “We’re excited to welcome families to Hickory Hill and build a community that feels like home.”

Hickory Hill offers a range of accommodations including RV sites, cabins, and tent camping, alongside amenities such as heated pools, a splash pad, mini golf, hiking trails, and themed family events.
