An Auburn man was arrested after officers discovered cocaine and drug-related paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Dunning Avenue in the earlier this week.
According to the Auburn Police Department, Kayshawn Jenkins was pulled over shortly after midnight and found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Officers reported seeing items consistent with drug sales in plain view during the stop.
Jenkins gave officers consent to search the vehicle, where they located a bag containing a white powdery substance. That substance later tested positive for cocaine, police said. Jenkins was taken into custody and transported to Auburn Police Headquarters.
He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the third degree, an unclassified misdemeanor. He was processed and transported to Cayuga County Jail pending arraignment.
