A Lyons man was arrested early Saturday morning following a traffic stop in the Town of Junius that led to a charge of driving while intoxicated.
Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson said deputies arrested 40-year-old James E. Butler Jr. around 4:50 a.m. on April 5. Deputies stopped Butler Jr.’s vehicle after observing it speeding in a posted 50 mph zone.
During the stop, deputies conducted field sobriety tests, which led to Butler Jr.’s arrest on a misdemeanor DWI charge. He also faces other unspecified traffic violations.
Butler Jr. was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Junius Town Court on May 20 to answer the charges.
