A destructive fire tore through a barn in Ontario early Monday morning, destroying equipment and several vehicles, according to first responders. The blaze began around 1 a.m. on Paddy Lane and also damaged the siding of a nearby home.
Firefighters used sand to absorb a hazardous oil-water mixture caused by the flames. Despite the intensity, no injuries were reported. The State Department of Environmental Conservation will assess the site for contamination.
Officials have not yet determined the cause of the fire. An investigation remains underway.
