Police: Waterloo juvenile would have faced felony after criminal mischief investigation

Police in Waterloo arrested a juvenile over the weekend following an investigation into property damage at a residence.

Officers responded on March 30 at about 7:59 p.m. and arrested the youth, whose identity is being withheld due to age. Investigators allege the juvenile caused damage inside a home, leading to charges that would amount to third-degree criminal mischief—a Class E felony—if committed by an adult.

The juvenile was released to a parent and issued an appearance ticket for the Seneca County Probation Department. A future court date has not yet been announced.
