Community members plan to rally Tuesday outside the Seneca Falls Town Municipal Building in protest of the Town Board’s recent approval of a permit for the Seneca Meadows landfill, according to organizers.
The permit would allow the landfill, run by Waste Connections, to continue operating while awaiting final approval from Governor Hochul and the state DEC. Opponents, including parents and business owners, argue the move signals support for expansion despite health and environmental concerns.
Disputes over the vote’s validity have added to tensions, with protesters demanding stronger community representation in local decisions.
