Geneva police arrest two in South Main Street drug raid

  • Staff Report

Two convicted felons were arrested early Friday morning after Geneva police and the Ontario County SWAT team raided a South Main Street apartment and seized a large stash of illegal drugs.

Loyd Kennedy, 36, of Rochester, and Heather Ann Hilligus, 42, of Geneva, were both charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony.

The arrests followed a months-long investigation that began after several civilian complaints, according to the Geneva Police Department. Detectives with the Drug Enforcement Unit determined that Kennedy and Hilligus were selling narcotics from the apartment at 380 South Main Street.

Police say the high-risk search warrant was executed at approximately 5 a.m. Officers found crack cocaine, ecstasy pills, and about $800 in cash during the search. No injuries were reported.

Kennedy and Hilligus were processed at the Geneva Police Department and transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment. Due to New York State bail reform and the presiding CAP court judge’s decision, both were released and ordered to reappear at a later date.

The department thanked the Ontario County and Seneca County sheriff’s offices for their assistance with the investigation and warrant execution.
