A fresh season means new adventures across Livingston County, and Visit LivCo is ready to help locals and visitors alike make the most of it.
The tourism office released its 2025 Spring and Summer Travel Guide this week, offering 52 pages of regional events, outdoor destinations, family-friendly activities, and insider recommendations.
The free guide includes a day-trip itinerary for Route 36, an article spotlighting the county’s newest restaurants, and a special section geared toward kids. It also dives into the story of the Abbey of the Genesee, where Trappist monks bake 15,000 loaves of the locally famous Monk’s Bread each week. A feature interview with Father Isaac Slater shares the bread’s history and invites readers to tour the abbey and visit its gift shop.
“It can feel a little overwhelming when you consider how many incredible events and things to do are available across our region during the spring and summer,” said Tourism Director Kelly Burns. “We’re trying to take some of the guesswork and stress out of people’s planning with our beautiful full-color guide.”
Page six of the guide lists top festivals and fairs, including Dansville’s Dogwood Festival, Nunda Fundays, the Caledonia Trout Festival, the Hemlock “Little World’s” Fair, and the Avon Corn Festival. A QR code on the same page links to an expanded list of upcoming events.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find new tips for exploring the east side of Letchworth State Park. The guide highlights several of the park’s lesser-known trails, offering advice for both casual hikers and seasoned trekkers.
Printed copies of the guide are available at select locations across the county, and a digital version is accessible online. Burns noted that even longtime residents often discover new experiences through the guide, making it a valuable tool for locals and tourists alike.
