The Alzheimer’s Association will hold a community forum next month to connect Seneca County residents with resources and support for dementia care.
The event, organized by the Rochester & Finger Lakes Region Chapter, is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Seneca Falls Public Library, located at 47 Cayuga Street. Lunch will be provided to those who register in advance.
Arlene Wilson, senior director of programs for the chapter, said the forum is meant to unite caregivers, families, and individuals affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. “No individual or family should navigate the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease alone,” she said.
The session will include a review of the basics of Alzheimer’s, dementia, and memory loss. Organizers will also explain the services currently offered by the Alzheimer’s Association and explore ways to expand support across Seneca County. “Bring a friend and share your thoughts on how the Alzheimer’s Association can help more people in Seneca County,” Wilson added.
Staff from the Seneca County Office for the Aging will also be on hand to share information about local programs and services.
The program is free to attend, but registration is required. Interested individuals can sign up at bit.ly/SenecaCoForum25 or by calling 800.272.3900.
This event is supported in part by a grant from the New York State Department of Health.
