UR Medicine Thompson Health has received a Gold Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health from Mental Health America, recognizing its commitment to fostering a mentally healthy work environment.
MHA, the nation’s leading nonprofit promoting mental well-being and illness prevention, awards the Bell Seal at four levels—Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Only 25% of employers nationwide meet the certification standards, making Thompson Health’s achievement particularly notable.
With more than 2,100 associates, Thompson Health underwent a rigorous evaluation of its policies and practices in workplace culture, benefits, compliance, and wellness programs. The organization highlighted key initiatives such as Mental Health First Aid training, Success Coaching, and department-specific “Circles of Care,” along with various wellness programs aimed at supporting employees’ well-being.
Vice President of Associate Services and Wellness Jennifer DeVault credited the award to the hard work of Thompson Health’s Associate Wellness, Associate Services, and Spiritual Care teams. “Receiving this award is a validation of all this hard work and lets us know we are on the right track,” she said. “In addition, having access to the MHA’s data helps us plan for the future as we strive to offer even more helpful programs and for that, we are grateful.”
The Bell Seal certification reflects Thompson Health’s ongoing dedication to mental health support and its proactive approach in ensuring employees feel valued and supported in the workplace.
