Fayette woman charged with petit larceny after shoplifting in Seneca Falls

A Fayette woman is facing charges after a shoplifting incident at a local business in Seneca Falls.

Police arrested 64-year-old Viola G. Chiarilli on March 22 after she allegedly stole merchandise and left without paying.


According to the Seneca Falls Police Department, officers responded to a report of theft and identified Chiarilli as the suspect. She was taken into custody and charged with one count of petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor.

Chiarilli was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge in court at a later date.
