Lansing’s Trails Working Group is moving forward with the Greenway project, a multi-use trail connecting key community hubs like town hall, schools, senior housing, and local businesses. The group plans to commission feasibility studies and a trails master plan to guide development.
With 90% of the required land already owned by the town, early phases could begin soon, pending funding. Initial efforts include upgrading an existing roadside shoulder for pedestrian use and addressing erosion concerns. Additional funding from the Tompkins County Transportation Council may support further planning.
The trails master plan, expected by early 2026, will provide detailed route options and land use strategies, reinforcing Lansing’s goal of a more connected, family-friendly community.
