Victor residents have an opportunity to challenge a planned equipment purchase after the Village of Victor Board of Trustees authorized a $142,000 transfer for a new mini-excavator. The board passed the resolution on March 3, allowing the village treasurer to move funds from the Equipment Reserve A232E to the Central Garage account to purchase the 2025 model.
The resolution is subject to a permissive referendum, meaning residents who oppose the purchase can submit a petition to force a public vote. Any such petitions must be filed with the village clerk’s office at 60 East Main Street within 30 days of the notice’s March 4 posting.
Meanwhile, the Village of Victor is preparing to hold a public hearing on its tentative 2025-2026 fiscal budget. The Board of Trustees will meet on March 17 at 7 p.m. at the Village Hall to discuss the proposed spending plan, which takes effect on June 1.
The tentative budget is available for public review at the clerk’s office during business hours. As part of the financial plan, the village has proposed annual salaries of $12,513 for the mayor, $8,785 for the deputy mayor, and $7,531 for each trustee.
