A Cayuga County sex offender is headed to prison after a lengthy investigation.
Kevin M. VanNorstrand, 38, was sentenced to four years in prison with 10 years of post-release supervision for attempting to send indecent material to a minor.
He also received additional concurrent sentences for child pornography possession and a parole violation.
VanNorstrand was arrested in July after engaging in explicit conversations with individuals he believed were children.
A forensic investigation later uncovered child pornography on his electronic devices.
