The Ira Volunteer Fire Department gathered for its annual banquet, celebrating the dedication of its members and expressing gratitude to the community for its ongoing support. The event, hosted at the Cato Legion, featured a formal dinner and recognition of the department’s achievements over the past year.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Firefighter of the Year award to past president Billy Combes, recognizing his commitment and service to the department. The banquet also served as the official introduction of the department’s officers for 2025.
Leading the department for the upcoming year is Chief Dan Baldwin, with Terry Conn serving as 1st Assistant Chief, Donald Rodriquez as 2nd Assistant Chief, and Josh Lovejoy as 3rd Assistant Chief. Additional leadership roles include Captain Tyler Reichert, Rescue Captain Amanda Burkle, and Lieutenant Jason McIntyre.
The department’s administrative officers for 2025 are President Amanda Burkle, Vice President Tyler Reichert, Treasurer Terry McGillis, and Secretary Judy Rodriquez.
The fire department extended its appreciation to Cayuga County Legislator Jonathan Anna for officiating the swearing-in of its officers. Members also expressed their gratitude to the community for its continued support, emphasizing the vital role it plays in sustaining the department’s mission.
