A man accused of violating a court-issued order of protection was arrested last week in Cayuga County. Authorities identified the suspect as 39-year-old James Geer III of Auburn.
According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a complaint on February 5 at 4:20 p.m. The protected party reported that Geer, the father of her child, had contacted her by phone and left voicemails in violation of a full stay-away order issued by Auburn City Court.
Geer was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned at Centralized Arraignment Part Court and remanded to Cayuga County Jail on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
Geer is scheduled to appear in Village of Port Byron Court on March 4 at 5:00 p.m.
