  • Staff Report

A Waterloo man was arrested Saturday evening after allegedly damaging a patrol car during a confrontation with law enforcement.

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reported that Benjamin Greenfield, 43, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, as well as two misdemeanors—fourth-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. when deputies cited Greenfield for violating a village ordinance. During the exchange, Greenfield allegedly kicked a Sheriff’s Office patrol car, causing damage.

Greenfield was taken into custody and transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility. He is being held pending an appearance in CAP Court.

The Waterloo Police Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office in the arrest.
