Authorities in Ontario County have arrested five individuals in connection with the brutal killing of 24-year-old Sam Nordquist, whose body was discovered in a Yates County field. Prosecutors describe the case as one of the most brutal they’ve ever encountered, with Nordquist enduring extensive torture before his death.
Among the suspects, Kyle Sage and Patrick Goodwin were on parole for prior offenses, including sexual crimes involving minors. Precious Arzuaga had multiple misdemeanor convictions. All five face second-degree murder charges, carrying potential 15- to 20-year sentences.
While no clear motive has been identified, investigators have not classified the killing as a hate crime. Authorities are still examining the suspects’ relationships with Nordquist. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact New York State Police.
