One shed destroyed, another damaged after Seneca Falls blaze

Emergency crews responded to a shed fire on Troy Street in Seneca Falls on Sunday afternoon, with firefighters containing the blaze before it spread to nearby structures.

At approximately 12:00 p.m. on February 2, the Seneca County E-911 Center received a report from a passerby about a fire at 15 Troy Street. Seneca Falls Police and Seneca Falls Fire Department were first to arrive, finding smoke and flames engulfing the exterior of the shed. Firefighters from Waterloo, Fayette, and Geneva Fire Departments provided mutual aid, while North Seneca Ambulance also attended the scene.

Although the fire was swiftly extinguished, the shed was destroyed. Another nearby shed sustained minor damage due to the heat. The Seneca County Fire Investigation Team is leading the inquiry into the cause of the blaze, which remains undetermined at this time.
