FBI agents fear mass firings under Trump administration

Amid fears of mass firings at the FBI, acting Director Brian Driscoll reassured agents Saturday that efforts to remove staff involved in January 6th investigations are being contested. President Donald Trump recently fired eight top FBI executives and requested a list of all agents who worked on those cases, sparking concerns of political retribution.

Agents have reportedly started packing their desks, prompting the FBI Agents Association to advise them not to resign. Driscoll emphasized that agents are assigned cases based on duty, not politics, and reminded them of their civil service protections.

Trump’s nominee for FBI Director, Kash Patel, faces questions about potential further removals.
