A Phelps man was arrested Thursday night following a domestic dispute that resulted in injuries, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Patrick F. Rouse, 45, of Garfield Street, Phelps, was taken into custody around 8:56 p.m. on Garfield Street. Authorities say Rouse faces charges of attempted assault in the second degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree after an altercation that turned violent.
According to investigators, Rouse allegedly punched the victim multiple times in the face and ripped portions of their hair out. In addition, he reportedly withheld the victim’s phone to prevent them from calling 911 for help. The victim was treated for facial injuries at a local hospital and later released.
Rouse was transported to Ontario County Jail, where he was held pending arraignment.
Sheriff’s deputies have not released further details regarding the relationship between Rouse and the victim or any updates on the ongoing investigation.
