Trump highlighted stagnant standardized test scores and poor proficiency rates as evidence of the shortcomings of government-run education. School choice programs, he noted, have improved academic performance and safety while saving taxpayer dollars.
The order builds on Trump’s previous education reforms, including tax-free withdrawals from 529 plans for K-12 schooling.
