Geneva man was charged with obstructing governmental administration following an incident on South Main Street on January 29.
Aleem J. Whitfield, 35, was arrested after allegedly interfering with police officers during an unrelated arrest. According to Officer Michael Shugars, Whitfield obstructed officers by physically intimidating them and refusing to comply with lawful orders as they attempted to carry out their duties.
Whitfield was charged with obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, a misdemeanor under New York law. The arrest was made in response to a formal complaint filed after the incident.
