Governor Kathy Hochul and Senator Chuck Schumer announced the opening of The Center for Discovery’s Children’s Specialty Hospital in Rock Hill, New York. The facility offers specialized inpatient care for children with complex disabilities, including autism, and aims to reduce long-term residential placements through a holistic, short-term treatment model.
Developed in partnership with state agencies, the hospital provides medical, behavioral, and therapeutic services on a 15-acre campus with sensory rooms, classrooms, and healing gardens. Supported by $48 million in federal funding and state investments, it will create over 400 jobs and improve access to care for families across New York.
The facility is projected to become a national model, transforming care for children with complex needs while supporting families and communities.
