Wayne County debates streaming public meetings

Despite a $200,000 investment in audio-visual technology, Wayne County Board of Supervisors meetings remain inaccessible to the public online. Meetings are recorded but only provided upon request, with no live streaming or YouTube uploads, unlike neighboring counties.

County Administrator Rick House and Board Chair Kim Leonard advocate for greater transparency, citing public convenience as Wayne’s meetings occur on weekday mornings.

Options being considered include continuing the current approach, uploading recordings online, or live streaming. A final decision is expected at an upcoming session.
