A Seneca Falls woman was arrested Sunday evening after allegedly altering a price tag to shoplift at a local business.

Rachel L. Knepp, 38, was taken into custody at 8:26 p.m. after authorities determined she changed the price tag on an item, scanning a lower price for a more expensive product. Following an investigation, Knepp was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor, and falsifying business records in the first degree, a felony.

Knepp was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
