The Seneca County Board of Supervisors is set to address a wide range of issues at its committee meetings on January 28, starting at 6 p.m. Key agenda items include major infrastructure projects, updates to public health programs, and new agreements for public safety initiatives.
The Economic Development, Tourism, and Housing Committee will review funding for the Finger Lakes Regional Airport. Supervisors are expected to authorize bids for a new T-hangar construction project supported by a $2.3 million NYSDOT Aviation Capital Grant. Additionally, they will consider applying for a $400,000 Federal Aviation Administration grant to improve apron pavement.
In the Health and Human Services Committee, supervisors will discuss accepting a $20,286 Performance Incentive Grant from the New York State Department of Health and amending the public health budget accordingly. The committee will also vote on a new agreement with Melissa Burns for speech therapy services in the preschool program and approve appointments to the Seneca County Community Services Board.
The Public Safety and Criminal Justice Committee will review grants and agreements to bolster local safety services. These include a $25,000 grant for enforcing navigation laws and an intermunicipal agreement with Monroe County to house incarcerated individuals. The committee will also consider an agreement with the Town of Tyre for court security services provided by the Sheriff’s Department.
Public works will be another focus, with the board set to authorize a shared services agreement for emergency assistance with the New York State Department of Transportation. Supervisors will also discuss issuing bids for on-demand architectural services.
The Ways and Means Committee plans to authorize purchasing a new wireless system for $27,547.75 and a 2025 Ford Explorer for the Code Enforcement Office.
As part of the Human Resources and Government Operations Committee discussions, supervisors will consider creating a Senior Addiction Counselor position to replace a vacant Mental Health Clinical Therapist role.
The meetings will take place at the county offices, with opportunities for public comment on these resolutions and other matters.
