The median home listing price in Tompkins County rose to $407,500 in December, a 3.2% increase from November and a significant 16.8% jump from December 2023. Homes averaged 2,043 square feet at $198 per square foot, a 9.7% rise year-over-year.
Despite rising prices, the market slowed, with homes listed for a median of 70 days compared to 58 days the previous month. New listings fell sharply, with only 14 homes added in December, down 70.8% from the prior year.
Across the Ithaca metro area, the median home price reached $402,450, while New York State saw a median of $642,500. Nationally, the median was $402,502, highlighting the local market’s robust growth amid broader trends.
