Waterloo supervisor denies allegations, says he will be exonerated

Waterloo Town Supervisor Don Trout, charged with felony burglary, announced he will not resign and expects to be exonerated.

Trout, along with council member Robert Lotz and girlfriend Michelle Geraghty, are accused of entering the town Highway Department on March 25, 2024, and damaging property, reportedly a television.

According to the Finger Lakes Times, Trout defended his record in public service, describing the allegations as politically motivated attacks. Lotz told The Times they acted after the highway superintendent failed to remove the TV, claiming they used official keys to disable it.

All three pleaded not guilty and are scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 10.
