Under new Chairman Jonathan Anna, the Cayuga County Legislature has restructured its committees, splitting Planning and Public Works into separate groups: Planning and Economic Development, and Public Works.
The changes aim to address fiscal challenges through economic growth.
Anna appointed Republican Bob Shea to chair Planning and Economic Development, while Democrat Ben Vitale leads Public Works.
Of the six committees, Republicans chair two, with Democrats leading the rest. Adjustments to the Ways and Means Committee lineup were also announced.
